Register for Youth Mental Health First Aid Training

Our office has coordinated with California’s Department of Education to hold opportunities for individuals to attend one of our three live, virtual Youth Mental Health First Aid Trainings. Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) teaches adults who regularly interact with young people how to help youth experiencing mental health challenges in both crisis and non-crisis situations, as well as how to recognize risk factors and warning signs of mental health concerns.

This training (designed for those who work with young people between 6-18) gives adults the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to youth and connect them to the appropriate care. This is a basic training and open to anyone with or without a mental health background.

Training offerings are dependent upon having a minimum of 10 people register, and are capped at 30 people. Participants will need to complete 2 hours of self-paced online instruction prior to the live, virtual instructor-led training.

The trainings will take place as follows:

  1. April 18 & 19, 2023: 9:00 AM – 12:15 PM
  1. April 27, 2023: 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM (full day)
  1. May 15 & 16, 2023: 9:00 AM – 12:15 PM
